Small businesses are the engines of our economy. On Thursday, October 29, Secretary Kathleen Sebelius outlined the challenges facing small businesses and their employees.

On Thursday, October 1, Secretary Kathleen Sebelius welcomed Senator Sheldon Whitehouse for a live video chat. The Secretary and the Senator sat down for a half hour at the White House to answer the questions that the Senator hears most frequently from Rhode Islanders.
On Saturday, October 3, President Obama, in his weekly address, spoke of how the rising costs of health care are stifling America’s small businesses, and how reform will strengthen these businesses and the economy. Small businesses create roughly half of all new jobs, but they also pay up to 18 percent more for the very same insurance plans as larger businesses.
On Thursday, October 1, Secretary Sebelius released a report on how health information technology can improve health care for Americans living in rural communities. |
